Interesting to note here is that Ivan Lendl is to the day, the most successful player of the tournament in single tennis competitions, who have made it to the finals nine times and have won six out of them. He holds the record of the most wins, the most consecutive wins and the most finals attended. And such is the history of Rogers Cup filled with memorable moments. Another notable event in the history of this tournament is the match between Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi.
 
The National Bank of Canada is the major sponsor of the tennis events in Toronto and Montreal which are held at the Rexall Centre in Toronto and Uniprix Stadium in Montreal. Rexall Centre is situated in York University and has the capacity to entertain an audience of more than 12,000 people. Formerly Du Maurier Stadium, Uniprix was opened to public in 1993 and has a seating capacity as much as its sister venue.
